Norfolk Screen is keen to ensure that best practices are followed in regards to filming which has allowed us to adopt the Filming in England’s Code of Practice. The code is not intended to be unduly restrictive but aims at setting out good practice, reflecting the legitimate interests and concerns of those who may be affected by filming activities.
This Code of Practice applies to all forms of production, including feature films, television, commercials, drama documentaries, music videos, idents, stills shoots, and student or short film crews, when shot on location in public places in England outside of London, where they are likely to, or have the potential to, cause disruption to normal activity.
In practice, small on‑street location shoots (three people or fewer) may not need to follow every aspect of the Code at all times, and it is not intended for use by news crews. Productions are encouraged to read the Code and all relevant obligations carefully to ensure they operate within the law.
Please note that although this Code aims to be as comprehensive as possible, it cannot cover every eventuality. Each production should seek advice from legal counsel or other appropriate advisors regarding specific concerns.
