One of the most comprehensive collections of costume in the region. Over 30,000, expertly curated items for hire covering all periods of history including many original pieces. A full range of accessories are also available. The collection is available to hire for film, photo shoots and for research. Costume fittings and alterations can be arranged. Costume delivery can also be arranged

Areas covered - 20thC (mostly originals) 1920-1960- Daywear, eveningwear, men's wear, sports wear, coats, cloaks, outerwear, undergarments, nightwear, kimonos, knitwear, scarves, ties, shawls, feather boas, jeweller, bags, hats, gloves, footwear

1970s-1990s - Day wear and eveningwear, men's wear. Some iconic pieces including classic Laura Ashley, Adini, Biba style pieces, Pucci style prints, mini dresses, ra-ra dresses, power suits, kaftans, footwear and jewellery

Historical - Medieval - 1100-1450. Robes, gowns, cloaks, tunics, kirtles, headdresses, jewellery. From peasants to nobles.

Tudor, Henrican, Elizabethan - Shirts, doublets, breeches, ruffs, cloaks, hats, dresses (including a full Anne Boleyn costume, French hoods, English hoods, stays, hooped petticoats, chemises, gauntlets and jewellery

17th & 18th C - Frock coats, waistcoats, breeches, shirts, stocks, stockings, Cavalier cloaks, tabards and hats, sashes, lace collars, dresses, underskirts, chemises, stays, headdresses, caps, aprons, shawls. From peasants to nobles

19th C - Regency - Empire line gowns, spencer jackets, caps, turbans, bonnets, bags, gloves, shawls, slippers. Frock coats, waist coats, fall front trousers, shirts and stocks, riding boots

Victorian & Edwardian - Day wear, evening wear, corsets, petticoats, corsetry, bustles, bloomers. nightwear, jewellery, headwear. Menswear including shooting suits, morning suits, stiff collars, cravats, waistcoats, frock coats, smoking jackets, dressing gowns. From working class to upper class

Uniform - Mostly 1950 +. Army, Navy, Airforce. Also maids of various eras, butlers, waiters, chauffeurs, nurses, ring masters. Medals, caps and hats etc

Ecclesiastical - Cassocks of various colours, surplices, copes, mitres, bishops, monks, nuns, wimples, crucifixes

Men's hats - Bowlers, top hats, Homburgs, Trilbies, Fedora, flat caps, baker boy caps, Panamas. boaters, flying helmets, solar topees, pith helmets, deer-stalkers, smoking hats, fezes, crowns, bi-corns and tri-corns, cavalier hats
