Bio:
Anwen was married to the actor John Hurt until his death in 2017 and has lived in Norfolk for the last ten years. She studied music at the Birmingham Conservatoire and went on to work in both musical and straight theatre enjoying as much success behind the scenes as on stage. Anwen then moved into film production and, as Head of Production at Mad Cow FIlms, she produced commercials for television and cinema and music videos for over 15 years. She has produced and cast a number of feature films and documentaries while living in Norfolk, most notably In Love with Alma Cogan, Benjamin Britten - Peace & Conflict and ChickLit and is Executive Producer of Adrian Shergold’s latest film, Cordelia. Current productions include Swipe Right (as casting director and associate producer) and Valentine’s Day (as casting director). Anwen is the Artistic Director of the Holt Festival, Pro-Chancellor of Norwich University of the Arts, a director of the board of the Sir John Hurt Film Trust, a Trustee of Sheringham Little Theatre and a Patron of the Holt Youth Project. She is Patron of Project Harar, a UK registered charity to help people affected by facial disfigurement in Ethiopia and joint patron, along with the actor David Morrissey, of the Derby Film Festival.
